Vital nutrient for nerves, joints,
tissue regeneration
SAM-e is S-Adenosylmethionine, a natural
body chemical that is present in all
living cells and is required in over 40
biochemical reactions. SAM-e is
necessary for manufacturing certain
neurotransmitters, hormones, proteins,
the antioxidant glutathione and
components of healthy joints. The body's
level of SAM-e can be depleted by
stress, aging or a diet low in proteins
or methionine.
Users of SAM-e report a variety of
health benefits. SAM-e may work more
quickly for depression than St. John's
wort. Benefits are often reported within
days.
Each capsule contains 400 mg of S-adenosylmethionine
tosylate, delivering 200 mg of SAM-e.
Enterically coated caps for maximum
absorption.
Research: SAM-e (135 clinical
trials) appears to raise levels of
dopamine, an important neurotransmitter
in mood regulation, and higher SAMe
levels in the brain are associated with
successful drug treatment of depression.1
Double-blind studies for depression2
osteoarthritis3,
fibromyalgia4,
infertility
5,
and migraine headaches6
have all shown benefits. SAMe was also
shown to replenish substances in damaged
livers and improve the flow of bile.7
