Flash-Ease (60)
(Time release) - Herbal Supplement Notes
Black Cohosh Concentrate for Menopausal
Discomforts*
Black Cohosh supports glandular balance for physical
and chemical changes that occur during menopause. It
can also be used for mild functional deficits after
full or partial hysterectomy, PMS and juvenile
menstrual disorders. It acts on the hypothalamus,
pituitary gland and estrogen receptors to relieve
psychological, vegetative and somatic disturbances.
It is well tolerated and suitable for long-term use
with no contraindications except pregnancy,
especially the first trimester. Black cohosh may
temporarily restore irregular menstrual cycles.
Flash-Ease is a potent timed-release version of
Black Cohosh. Flash-Ease is standardized to 2.5
percent (2 mg) concentration of triterpene
glycosides (the key active component). A
slow-release matrix process ensures a full 10 hours
of release, yielding 2 mg of triterpene glycosides
per capsule. Dong quai also supports the glandular
system. It is considered the "female ginseng."
Contains 80 mg of a concentrated black cohosh
extract and 200 mg dong quai.
Research: A review of eight clinical trials
found black cohosh to be both safe and effective for
symptomatic relief of menopausal hot flashes. Other
symptoms which improved included night sweats,
insomnia, nervousness, and irritability.
