Glucosamine
- Joint Flexability Supplement
Notes
Rebuild connective tissue
Glucosamine is an amino acid/sugar material
that the body can use to build new tissue in
joints, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and
other areas. Gradually (at least 4-12 weeks)
reduces osteoarthritis pain by promoting the
healing process. Continue regular use as long
as needed (which is some months after the
obvious pain has subsided).
Cat's claw is added to promote cleansing and
help reduce inflammation even faster than
glucosamine alone.
NSP originally sold glucosamine sulfate but
now provides glucosamine hydrochloride which
is more stable and does not have to be diluted
with potassium chloride to protect it from
breaking down. Both forms are released and
used effectively in the body.
Research: Glucosamine (189 clinical
trials); In one particularly strong twelve
week study, glucosamine supplementation was
shown to provide pain relief and improved
function in persons who experience regular
knee pain, which may be caused by prior
cartilage injury and/or osteoarthritis ( 88%
versus 17% for placebo). The trends in the
results suggest that, at a dosage of 2,000 mg
per day, the improvements are present after
eight weeks.
