Hawthorne Berries - Heart Strength Supplement
Notes
Heart and circulation stimulant
Hawthorn berries are widely used to strengthen
and balance the heart and circulatory system.
Bioflavonoids cause dilation of blood vessels,
especially coronary arteries. They produce a
feeling of well-being by reducing blood pressure
and cholesterol.
This is a plant that truly seems to target the
tissues of the heart. Researchers believe that
hawthorn helps the heart in several ways. It
dilates coronary arteries to improve blood
supply. It may increase the heart's pumping
force, eliminate heart-rhythm irregularities and
remove cholesterol from arterial walls.
It
has been used to reduce angina attacks and
prevent cardiac complications in elderly
patients with pneumonia and influenza.
Research: Hawthorn (9 clinical
trials) Five separate studies have confirmed
that hawthorn berries are beneficial for stage
II (early-stage) congestive heart failure.1,2
People with congestive heart failure taking
160–900 mg of hawthorn extract per day for eight
weeks showed improved quality of life including
greater ability to exercise without shortness of
breath and exhaustion. It has also been found
beneficial for angina.3 and lowering
blood pressure.4
