Natural Antihistamines to Block Respiratory
Inflammation
Although the body's inflammatory response is
important, it can over‑react when mast cells
are stimulated to release too much
histamine. Indoor and outdoor allergy
problems can cause bronchial tubes to
tighten and mucous membranes of the sinuses,
eyes, nose and throat to swell and run.
"Stable" mast cells do not release excessive
histamine.
Quercitin is a bioflavonoid antioxidant that
helps to stabilize mast cells. Bromelain is
a mixture of enzymes that have powerful
body‑wide anti‑inflammatory actions.
Bromelain also breaks down thickened mucus.
Fructus arantia is a strong Chi‑moving
energy tonic. It relieves tightness and
opens blockages to move energy in the body.
It also opens channels for the removal of
retained mucus, bile, fecal matter and
encapsulated toxins. It contains the
decongestant synephrine which is weaker than
ephedrine but has a longer-lasting effect.
Stinging Nettle is a popular remedy for
allergic rhinitis (hay fever). The stinging
phytochemicals are potent anti-inflammatories.
Research: Bromelain (65 clinical
trials); Several double-blind studies on the
anti-inflammatory effects of bromelain (an
enzyme found in pineapple) has shown it to
be effective for people suffering from
sinusitis.
