The
kidneys eliminate waste materials from the blood which
then pass through the ureter tubes and in to the holding
tank - bladder. The kidneys can be compared to a water
purification plant. These organs remove waste from
the blood just as a purification plant removes
impurities from drinking water. Every day the kidneys
filter nearly 200 liters of fluid from the bloodstream.
They excrete toxins, metabolic wastes and excess ions,
and reabsorb necessary metabolic byproducts. These two
bean-shaped organs also regulate the volume and chemical
composition of the blood. Good nutrition and fluid
